Visit the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. Explore The Avett Brothers’ hometown. See a live performance inside an historic theater and take in a music festival at the legendary speedway. Here are Cabarrus County’s must-visit music stops.
Cabarrus County has something for every music lover, from honoring local legends to enjoying up-and-coming acts. At the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in Kannapolis, the legacies of musicians with North Carolina ties are preserved and honored, including James Taylor, John Coltrane, Charlie Daniels, Roberta Flack and more. For aficionados of music and motorsports, pop into the neighboring Curb Museum, where owner Mike Curb pays homage to both.
Catch a show any time of the year at one of Cabarrus County’s historic theatres. On the weekends, music fans will find plenty of local bands performing live at hangouts like local bars, pubs and breweries. Even the races at Charlotte Motor Speedway often feature free concerts. And in the summer, you can sway to the sounds of classic rock, country acts, and more during the area’s summer concert series.
